As The Weather Network’s “Man on the Street” Kevin Yarde can be found almost anywhere in the GTA
weekday mornings bringing us local weather and visiting interesting attractions and events. Kevin combines his formal broadcast training and likeable personality to help viewers figure out what to wear that day.
Kevin joined The Weather Network team in 2001 after working as a television reporter and talk show host. Always interested in television and movies as a kid, broadcasting was a natural progression to focus his energy. Growing up in Unionville the record breaking blizzard of 1977 had a tremendous impact on Kevin and solidified his fascination with the weather.
Kevin holds an Honors BA in Political Science from York University. After dabbling in the insurance world Kevin returned to school and get his degree in Journalism from Ryerson.
What does Kevin love about the weather?
I like the fact that we live in a country with diverse seasons and climates that it will always be different throughout the year. Mother nature can be kind and cruel and I find it fascinating to see how weather can change at the blink of an eye.
