Arda wrestled his way into the broadcasting world and he's been pinning it to the mat ever since.
Arda joined The Weather Network team in late 2013 and after 3 months shivering in Ottawa, Arda now broadcasts from the Vancouver bureau. He's gathered over 15 years of industry experience in both athletics and lifestyle media, having been an on-air personality with The Score Television Network where he created the hit TV program "Aftermath" as well as hosted "WWE Experience" and "Countdown to WWE RAW". Previously Arda was a sports reporter with Global News Toronto and co-host of the daily lifestyle program, Daytime.
Arda holds a degree in Mathematics (no kidding) from the University of Waterloo and volunteered at the local radio station (CKMS FM) and the school newspaper. A broadcaster was born.
What does Arda love about the weather?
That people tweet pictures of their pets in it! Ok, seriously, it's fascinating, ever changing, something that impacts absolutely everyone. Going through active weather for many people is like a community event. Deep down inside, everyone has an inner meteorologist in them... when small talk inevitably turns to (or begins with) weather, we all become experts.
- Arda can give a greeting in 65 languages, one of which is Dothraki (Game of Thrones)
- Arda beat the 1980s video game "Super Mario 2" in 20 minutes (give or take)
- Arda plays the bass guitar. His go to songs are "Give it Away" by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and "Longview" by Green Day.
- Big time TV & movie buff
