This evening's rain shower progressed in a hurricane-like storm toppling two trees, ripping out telephone service for some residents, and bringing down the power line —which miraculously continued to provide electricity. This is not the first time Hamilton Island has faced severe weather. Almost three years ago to the day, another storm felled trees and caused property damage.
