Wild Turkeys

20185 views Calvin Hanson Photos March 15, 2024 Harrisons Corners, Ontario, CA Date shot: March 15, 2024

In a harvested corn field, a Wild Turkey gobbler struts his stuff guarding two hens (on the left). The gobbler’s plumage is puffed up, his tail feathers are starting to rise like a fan, and his head is brilliant red. There were approximately thirty Wild Turkeys in the flock with several gobblers showing their dominance trying to be King of the flock, an annual ritual in the Springtime. This photo was taken today, March 15th.
