Why Trumpeter Swans Grow so Fast

95 views Port Skipper July 25, 2014 unknown Date shot: July 25, 2014

I got to the Nonquon / Port Perry Lagoons after the first morning feeding today. You just have to look at the cygnets that barely dragged themselves back unto the shore after eating to understand that sheer volume of food is doing the growth trick. I have never seen them look so obese. The growing volume of brown piles on the shore might explain why they move locations regularly too.
