Pileated pair pounding pulpy Birch.

178 views Jim Middleton September 2, 2014 Orange Trail, North Bay, ON P1A 3Z4, Canada Date shot: August 28, 2014

A pair of Pileated Woodpeckers (1 in uploaded VIDEO) were busy pounding away at an old pulpy Birch Tree in The Laurier Woods Conservation Area but had enough time to keep me going in circles every time I tried to get a picture of them. They would fly from the Birch tree to a Maple just down the trail and back to the Birch as soon as I raised my camera to take a photo, doing this a few times. I swore I heard them laughing.
