My first ever sighting of an Eastern Screech Owl. He's very near a path, so that he'd better be ready to sleep through a lot of attention! (A little girl of about six or seven told me earnestly that it was her first Screech Owl in her life, too! It's so heartening to see children who recognize the wonder of these moments!) And he's got feathery eyelids!!! so cool!
