Boreal Chickadee...

58 views Rachel Chiasson March 28, 2015 Atholville, NB Date shot: March 27, 2015

Not something we usually see around these parts, not a rare thing to see but uncommon to see this bird in our area. Cool Facts: Like most chickadees, the Boreal Chickadee hides food regularly. Such storage is probably vital for winter survival in the harsh boreal environment. An analysis of the items a Boreal Chickadee cached found that the only seeds stored were those of spruce trees. Most of the stashed items were insect larvae.
