Similar in size and appearance to the black-capped chickadee except the colour is brown. Unlike the black-capped chickadee, the boreal chickadee live mainly within the confines of the boreal forests of Canada. It rarely moves southward. This winter has been one of the rare times we get to see them this far south. Not photographed in Ottawa.
