Our polka dot wasp

304 views Carole Kowal August 10, 2014 Nanaimo, BC Date shot: August 7, 2014

An Ichneuman wasp - she actually bores into wood with that long (I call it tail, but it's not) and lays her eggs there. Or she lays her eggs in another insect, when they get to the next stage of life, they feed off the insides until the host dies. The adult ichneuman doesn't eat.
