Not the best photo (VIDEO uploaded) or video but does demonstrate the nightly uprising of the Shad Fly on a warm Canada Day in North Bay as seen against the sky at dusk. This wonderful food source was slow starting but this was one of 3 heavy nights of the Shad Flies, or also called the May Fly, as they emerged from Lake Nipissing in the thousands. Local wildlife goes crazy feeding on these non-biting insects and a large emergence of them indicates a healthy Lake Nipissing as well.
