A Butterfly Story

805 views Terry Taylor January 27, 2015 Port Franks, Lambton Shores, ON Date shot: August 22, 2014

Last summer these little specks appeared on our dill plant. Within a few weeks, they grew into beautiful big catepillars. Most people would have removed them to save their dill, but we decided to let them stay. The orange "horns" pop out of their head when you bother them for a picture. They spin a cocoon for a few days, then a beautiful swallowtail butterfly emerges. :)
