I heard a couple of kits yelping so went to inspect. Mom fox and a kit following her. Mom was walking away on the road but the kit kept yelping at her. Mom fox actually sat down and talked back. Her tone was more bell like. This went on for about 30 seconds. Mom finally left but the kit was still barking. Mom has to go to work. First time I’ve actually heard an adult fox communicating verbally with one of her young.
