On July 29, 2009, YVR recorded its highest all-time daily temperature of 34 C! While Vancouverites continue to swelter in a rare heat wave, records all over BC are succumbing to the heat. See below for the list:

So how historic is this heat?
High temperatures in the upper-thirties are common across the B.C. Interior, but the current heat wave is making its biggest mark along the coast where never seen before values are being approached. From Burnaby to Langley, temperatures are in the mid-thirties and some locations such as Port Alberni on Vancouver Island have seen readings close to 40 C. The exact numbers have and will continue to determine this heat wave's place in history, but this is already the hottest spell since 1998.
The hot weather pattern for B.C. will continue into next week as a large ridge in the jet stream persists. Over the next few days, the core of the heat will shift back to the interior, allowing slightly cooler air to filter across the Inner South Coast and Lower Mainland. However, temperatures are forecast to remain above normal through the B.C. Day long weekend and into next week with many areas away from the water experiencing high temperatures above 30 C.
