"Don't store your winter tires just yet."

That's the warning from Environment Canada in a special weather statement issued for parts of Quebec early Tuesday.

Another system that's threatening to impact Wednesday's commute in Ontario is expected to continue to push east into Quebec Wednesday afternoon.

Significant amounts of snow are expected in some places, including the city of Montreal where 10 cm could pile up.

"Although precipitation will start as snow, it is very possible that it will change into rain Thursday morning, especially over areas around Montreal," EC says.

Freezing rain is also possible during the transition Wednesday night over the regions near the St. Lawrence River.
