Monday, October 28, 2013, 1:20 PM - It doesn't matter that it's only October as a winter storm warning was issued for parts of Montana on Monday.
The system responsible for delivering up to 20 centimetres of snow to parts of southern Alberta is making its presence known across the border.
Winter storm warnings were issued Monday for several areas while temperatures are expected to plunge.
Through the overnight hours and into Tuesday, 15 centimetres of snow is forecast for southwest portions of the state.
To make matters worse, windchill warnings were also issued. Wind chills of -10C are expected.
The wind has already created whiteout conditions and slippery roads.
The Montana highway patrol responded to 45 accidents in just a couple hours.
The energy from the low pressure will reform along the eastern Rockies as a Colorado low - the system that will make for an eventful Halloween in Ontario.
