Atlantic Canadians dig out of 20 cm of snow

On Wednesday, another storm lashed at Atlantic Canada, bringing nearly 20 cm of snow to the hardest hit places by the evening.
Winter storm and snowfall warnings were issued for much of Newfoundland, including the city of St. John's.

In addition to the heavy snow, strong wind gusts were reported.
The powerful winds, combined with freshly fallen snow, generated blowing snow and reduced visibilities.
In the Maritimes, poor driving conditions early Wednesday resulted in a handful of school closures in Nova Scotia.
"New Brunswick saw snow from this system, however they came out of this largely unscathed," says Monica Vaswani, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.
The snow tapered to flurries late Wednesday night and ended by the early morning hours on Thursday.
