Sunday, May 24, 2015, 7:09 AM - Temperatures on the up and up in the east, while the west is already sweltering, and facing some storm risk.

Here's your Sunday weather brief.

Atlantic Canada

  • Maritimes: Seasonal temps ahead for the Atlantic provinces, rising through the week with mild and humid air coming in from the Gulf. Some isolated showers possible Sunday in northern parts of New Brunswick. Breezy in coastal areas.
  • Newfoundland: Light showers on the western shores Sunday, with snow, mixing and rain in the forecast for Labrador.

Ontario & Quebec

  • Ontario: Temperatures in the mid-20s for most of the province Sunday. Warm front moves in Sunday night, bringing a chance of showers in the pre-dawn hours Monday. Building heat this coming week, feeling like the low 30s with the humidity, with thunderstorms likely.
  • Quebec: Convective showers likely through southern Quebec this afternoon, including Montreal area and Eastern Townships. Winds in the 30-40 km/h range. Temperatures in the mid-20s.

Western Canada

  • Prairies: Sun and cloud for Sunday. Chance of showers and thunderstorms from Banff up to Jasper in the afternoon and heating. Daytime heating may prompt some convective cells elsewhere in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
  • British Columbia: More scattered thunderstorms and showers through the Interior, fairly widespread, after localized flooding in Cache Creek and other areas Saturday. Temperatures in the mid to high 20s.
