Saturday, May 23, 2015, 6:46 AM - People who woke up to frost this Saturday morning can take heart: Temperatures are on the rise again, although Canada-wide, the skies won't be completely clear this weekend.
Here's a look at what's ahead for the weekend.
Atlantic Canada
- Maritimes: After some wet flurries, mostly in northern New Brunswick, Saturday's high temperatures aren't looking too impressive. Showers may continue throughout the afternoon, likeliest in eastern Nova Scotia.
- Newfoundland: A mix of sun and cloud ahead for the weekend, Saturday's highs in the low teens. Shower potential for western Newfoundland on Sunday.
Ontario & Quebec
- Ontario: After a frosty morning, temperatures return to near seasonal by the afternoon, with mainly sunny skies in the south. Slight chance of isolated showers in eastern Ontario. Pasing low may spark non-severe isolated thunderstorms in the Timmins and Kapuskasing regions. Warmer day ahead for Sunday, but a chance of showers and rain through Ontario Sunday night into Monday.
- Quebec: Chance of showers Saturday afternoon. Passing low brings a risk of isolated thunderstorms by Sunday afternoon. Warmer day ahead for Sunday.
Western Canada
- Prairies: Temperatures will be in the mid-20 range over the next several days for most of the region. Chance of showers for the southeastern Prairies into Monday. Overally, the ongoing dry conditions mean extreme fire risk for the most of the region.
- British Columbia: It could get as high as 30oC this weekend for some valleys and extreme portions of northeastern B.C. Risk of scattered thundershowers in the interior and higher elevations Saturday afternoon and evening.
