Watch what happens when hot nickel is placed on floral foam

Thursday, August 6, 2015, 6:59 PM - One of YouTube's latest viral hits shows what happens when a burning ball of nickle is placed on top of a block of green floral foam.

The video was uploaded to YouTube last Sunday. Since then, it's picked up more than 2 million views.

Instead of tearing straight through the foam, the heat causes the block do something unexpected.

It erupts into a cascade of colours as it slowly chars the foam.

There's something oddly relaxing about the whole thing.

The video was created by Cars and Water, a YouTube channel that "play[s] with fire so you don't have to."
