Washington landslide: Family dog rescued from rubble

The search for survivors following a mudslide in Washington state is now in day four.

the mudslide engulfed 2.5 square kilometres of Snohomish county north of Seattle Saturday.

at least 14 people are dead -- and more than 100 unaccounted for.

The Kuntz family farm didn't survive the disaster, and they had given up hope on finding their chocolate lab Buddy until they returned to the wreckage.

As they were surveying the rubble, they heard the dog whining. Covered in dirt, Buddy came through.

The family says they burst into tears upon seeing that their beloved dog. Now, Buddy is giving one family that's lost so much a reason to smile.

After finding Buddy and losing their cat the Kuntz family is helping rescue other animals from the rubble.
