After a cool and wet start to the week, the rest of the week will feature dry weather and day time temperatures that are a few degrees warmer our seasonal high of 12 degrees Celsius.

Thursday and Friday will bring sunshine mixed with clouds at times with high temperatures reaching the mid teens.

However, the clear skies will also allow for a couple of chilly nights with frost possible inland from Lake Ontario early on Thursday and Friday.

However, our warm-up will be interrupted on Saturday. After a mild start to the day, a cold front will approach around midday and bring a period of showers followed by northwest winds gusting to near 70 kilometres per hour. Additional showers are possible during the evening.

Sunday will be noticeably cooler than Saturday, and while the day will start cloudy we should see some sunshine during the afternoon.

Milder temperatures will return early next week with the warmest weather on Tuesday as temperatures reaching the upper teens with a gusty southwest wind.

However, the warm-up will not last long as cooler weather will return for the middle of next week.

The forecast for the end of next week, including Hallowe'en, is still highly uncertain. It looks like the first week of November will bring a period of below seasonal temperatures to the Great Lakes, but it is unclear whether we will see a couple of days of milder weather before that more extended period of cooler weather arrives.
