Viral video features dog diving 3 metres underwater

Friday, January 23, 2015, 3:34 PM - A recent viral video on YouTube features Jordy the chocolate lab diving an impressive 3-metres to collect rocks at the bottom of a river.

The video has been making the rounds on Instagram for a month, but it really started gaining momentum when Bryce Lund uploaded the video to YouTube Thursday.

Since then, it's racked up more than 150,000 views.

It's unclear when the video was shot but the footage was captured near Crescent City, California.

According to Lund, Jordy "taught himself how to dive down deeper and deeper to get rocks. This as deep of water he's ever been in and went straight to the bottom."

Labrador retrievers have webbed toes that make them excellent swimmers.

During the winter months, this webbing can protect paws from the conditions by preventing snow and sediment from balling up between the toes.
