We can thank drones for producing some of the most spectacular films on the planet.

Last month we were wowed when Shaun O'Callaghan strapped a GoPro camera to a DJI Phantom 2 quadcopter and sent it over Vanuatu's Mount Yasur volcano.

Then Captain Dave Anderson amazed us when he managed to capture thousands of common dolphins stampeding in California waters.

Now, see what happens when a camera is attached to a DJI Phantom and sent directly into a fireworks display.

The video was uploaded to the video-sharing site Vimeo by user Gasper C, who says the film was produced by his "buddy".

While it has been generally well received, some Internet users say it raises safety concerns.

"This is very pretty, and daring thing to do, but you need to have a word to 'your buddy' about potential consequences," says Vimeo user Mark Cocquio.

"Say a firework whacks the quad and it veers off, out of control, onto a main road, where it causes an accident."

Other users have argued that an accident is unlikely, due to large exclusion zones that are set up around such displays.

According Reddit user RedditShmedit, who appears to be the same person as Gapser C, the drone was unharmed by the fireworks -- but it was lost in the ocean one month later.
