Tuesday, May 20, 2014, 1:53 PM - China's Heilongjiang province is making headlines around the world after three UFOs crashed to the ground Friday morning, according to the China News Service.
Residents in rural villages reported hearing a "piercing noise" followed by a large fireball prior to the crashes.
The circular objects are metallic with jagged edges. Witness reports suggest the UFOs are about 2.5 feet in width and weigh about 90 pounds.

While the investigation into the origin of the strange objects is ongoing, local media is reporting that a Russian Proton-M rocket equipped with a communications satellite suffered engine failure shortly after launch around the time the UFOs fell from the sky.
Russian authorities say the rocket disintegrated in the atmosphere, but some Chinese media outlets are suggesting that portions of the rockets may have crashed to the ground in eastern China.
