Oakville, Ontario, April 27, 2015 – Today, Pelmorex Media Inc., parent company of The Weather Network and MétéoMédia, announced an updated version of its Connected TV app for Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Google TV and Amazon Fire TV users, among others. Offering new and improved features, The Weather Network Connected TV app provides on-demand access to detailed and personalized weather forecasts and relevant content.

The Weather Network Connected TV app allows for rapid discovery of content and ease of use. With a click of the television remote, users have access to key weather data and alerts through a simple, dynamic and efficient user interface. This is even more pronounced with new features and app enhancements, including:
- Full screen photos with slideshow functionality
- Expanded library of videos from around the world
- New localized search capabilities and additional languages including Italian, German & Portuguese (English, French and Spanish previously available)
- A Unique User Profile (UUP) to harness user data and browsing habits to inform product, content and feature development
Globally, more and more consumers are adopting connected TV devices at an impressive rate. According to Informa, there will be approximately 1.8 billion connected devices by 2016 and over 2 billion connected devices by 2017*.
First introduced in August 2013 for Samsung Smart TVs, The Weather Network Connected TV app has already achieved high engagement with both page views and visits growing over 90 per cent year over year.
