A large tractor trailer fire early Thursday morning was reported in the Toronto area.

"I was caught in a very large traffic jam this morning on the 401 westbound in front of the airport," says Weather Network content producer BJ Stewart. "There was a tractor trailer fire that closed basically all lanes of the 401. There were heavy flurries at the time too."

No injuries were reported in the crash.

A section of highway near Toronto's Pearson International Airport was also closed overnight following a fatal traffic accident.

Police say they don't know yet what caused the accident on Highway 427, but the 46-year-old man from Etobicoke died at the scene.

Beat The Traffic warned drivers to leave plenty of extra time Thursday morning.

"Be careful out there," BTT tweeted. "West of the city we are seeing some blowing snow/slippery conditions."
