Thursday, July 17, 2014, 9:22 PM - A seemingly innocuous live report from Airdrie, Alta., took a serious turn when rain quickly turned to damaging hail right in front of The Weather Network's Calgary reporter, Deb Matejicka. The concern for the situation was obvious on Matejicka's face as she kept calm and continued to update viewers on the severe weather unfolding in Alberta.

While recording a television report updating studio hosts and stormchasers Jaclyn Whittal and Mark Robinson, the severe weather tracking through Alberta surprised Matejicka, who stopped to show viewers golf ball sized hail before panning the camera to a nearby pond to see the frenzied splashing of hail hitting the water.
Alberta briefly experienced tornado warnings Thursday evening before the cells passed and all were lifted.
