EXTENDED ACTIVE WEATHER COVERAGE: Tune in to The Weather Network for live updates on the active weather in your area. Our team of reporters and meteorologists in the field provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date coverage.

Our extended period of gorgeous early fall weather will continue through the weekend with temperatures that are more typical of August for both Saturday and Sunday.

Our highs in the mid 20s will be similar to what we saw in the GTA last weekend, but this time we will have light winds and no threat for rain.

Early next week we will see more clouds, and a passing shower is possible late Monday and Monday night, but no significant rain is expected during the next seven days.

Tuesday will likely be the coolest day of next week with high temperatures in the upper teens, but that is right at seasonal for the final days of September.

As we head into the middle and end of next week, we will see another warming trend. Temperatures will not be as warm as what we will see this weekend, but we will be warmer than seasonal for the first few days of October.

However, as we head towards the weekend, it looks like we will have a transition to below seasonal temperatures. During this transition, we will have our best chance for widespread rain on Friday or Saturday (depending on the timing of the front).

Looking further ahead, it looks like temperatures during the month of October will average out near to above seasonal across Southern Ontario. While we will have periods of cool weather, the periods of mild weather should more than offset those cool periods for the next several weeks.

One should keep in mind, though, that average temperatures do drop quickly during October. On October 1st, the average high at Pearson Airport is 17.6 ºC, but on October 31st the average high is only 10.4 ºC.
