"Visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow," Environment Canada warns in a statement.
Snow is expected to accumulate quickly and remain in the area through Thursday morning in the Burin, Connaigre and northern Avalon peninsulas.
"Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather," EC says.
ANOTHER SYSTEM ON THE WAY
Sea-effect regions aside, most of eastern Canada saw a break from precipitation Wednesday. A new system will move in Thursday, bringing snow and some rain to the area.
