"The plane was sitting in a lady's bedroom."

That was one witness' description of a plane crash that happened in East Haven, Connecticut Friday.

Two homes have been badly damaged.

The accident occurred just ahead of the lunch hour. The turbo commander plane went down while approaching the Tweed-New Haven airport.

"We have an twin engine airplane that has gone down on Charter Oak Avenue at number 64 and number 68 Charter Oak Avenue. Both homes were fully involved when we pulled up.

There appears to be one person in the airplane and two people who were in the home," Chief Douglas Jackson of the Connecticut Fire Department said at a press conference Friday afternoon.

Two children, ages one and 13, were inside one of the homes with their mother at the time of the crash.

The body of one child has been found. The other is still missing but presumed dead.

Authorities say the mother made it out safely.

The body of the pilot has also been recovered.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating, and have yet to determine the cause.

Weather has been named as a likely factor. There was significant rain and wind at the airport when the accident occurred.
