Skiier killed in B.C. avalanche

A woman is dead after being caught in an avalanche near Golden, B.C. on Friday.
Search and Rescue officials said it happened while she was skiing on the Gothics Glacier above Fairy Meadows.
She was transported to hospital in Golden, then transferred to Foothills Hospital in Calgary, Alta., where she later died of her injuries.
It's been a deadly avalanche season in Canada's Rocky Mountains so far.
Among the dead are a skiier who was killed in late February near the B.C.'s Kootenay Pass, while in March a father and son died in an avalancheabove Lake Louise, Alta.
This weekend, the Canadian Avalanche Centre is urging people to take care on the slopes in northern B.C., due to warming temperatures, and avalanche risk was listed as considerablein several zones.
