Heavy rain and severe thunderstorms. A low pressure pressure system that's been impacting much of northern Ontario continues to slide south.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement early Tuesday warning of heavy rain and thunderstorms in eastern Ontario.

"A band of showers and isolated thunderstorms will move through the regions today bringing locally heavy downpours," the statement reads. "Local rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are likely."
Higher rainfall amounts may be possible if thunderstorms track over the same area, EC adds.
There's a risk for isolated severe storms in parts of southern Ontario, with the greatest threats being strong winds and hail.
The most intense storms are expected to bubble up during the afternoon hours and evening hours as the cold front moves through.
