That's according to Environment Canada's severe thunderstorm watch issued for parts of southern Quebec Tuesday morning.

"A humid air mass accompanying a vigorous weather system will cause thunderstorms giving significant rainfall amounts in a short period today over southern Quebec," says EC.

Upwards of 30 mm is expected for some places, with locally higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Officials warn to take cover if severe or threatening weather approaches.

A cold front pushing through the region will usher out the humid air mass later Tuesday.
