Series of lows bring powerful wind, rain to British Columbia

Wind warnings have been issued for parts of coastal B.C., including Metro Vancouver, as a series of Pacific lows target the region.

The first low will hit late Saturday morning, bringing winds up to 100 km/h to the north and south coasts.

"The most impactful weather from the first low will occur Saturday evening," says Weather Network meteorologist Monica Vaswani.

"This system will bring heavy rain to the coast and significant snowfall through the mountains."

Wind won't be the big story with the second system, although it will remain gusty.

The second system which approach late Sunday afternoon into the evening, bringing heavy rain to the coast.

Conditions aren't expected to taper anytime soon, with soggy weather forecast through the start of the work week.
