Schnitzel-craving bear raids Colorado restaurant

Apparently one of the unforeseen hazards of running a German restaurant in Colorado is night-time visits from schnitzel-loving bears.
Dieter Schnakenberg, owner of the Edelweiss restaurant in Colorado Springs, was quite baffled as to who was tipping over the dumpsters out back, until he set up security cameras to catch the "vandals."
"We pull up the video and sure enough this bear, a big bear, wanders over and just grabs hold of it and wheels it away," he told local news station KCNC.
He joined forces with wildlife officers to put down spiked mats around the dumpsters in the hope of discouraging the bear.
Quite aside from keeping people in the neighbourhood safe, it's for the bear's own good as well.
"It is hopefully to provide negative reinforcement to bears so we don't have to come in and trap, relocate or potentially have to euthanize a near," Colorado Parks and Wildlife office Cory Chick said.
"We'll see whether or not the German food outweighs the will of the bear!"
