After a cooldown on Friday, temperatures are expected to rebound this weekend.

Rosy weekend outlook for southern Ontario

After temperatures reaching nicely past the 20C mark earlier this week, people in Ontario and Quebec were disappointed with the cooldown that swept in on Friday.

Luckily, this weekend is looking like a nice return to form.

"High pressure centred on Ontario will give rise to one of the nicest weekends southern Ontario has seen this year," Weather Network meteorologist Brett Soderholm said Saturday morning. "Mainly sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-twenties are forecast for Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe."

It will certainly feel warmer than Friday did.

Cloudy skies made those temperatures feel cooler than they actually were in some areas.

For Saturday, Soderholm says, much of the province can expect fair conditions, although storms developing in eastern Ontario and southern Quebec may have a bit of a sting, in the form of non-severe thunderstorms.

"A trough will give rise to a few scattered showers in those regions this afternoon," Soderholm says.

Northwestern Ontario is expected to have its turn for non-severe thunderstorms on Sunday.

Back in southern Ontario, a few isolated showers are also possible on Tuesday.
