Return to summer for Estevan, Saskatchewan later this week

Monday, September 22, 2014, 6:54 PM - It's the first official day of fall, but temperatures are well above seasonal in the Prairies -- with the exception of a weak cold front that has infiltrated northern communities.

That trend is expected to continue for the next few days, with highs expected to reach the 33-34C range for Thursday, making it feel like feeling like 35C with the humidex.

"That's unbelievable heat for the end of September," says Weather Network meteorologist Tyler Hamilton.

Temperatures will fall back to more seasonal levels by the end of the weekend.

ONTARIO WILL BE FEELING THE HEAT, TOO

"An extended period of gorgeous early-fall weather is on the way with sunshine and late summer-like temperatures returning to southern Ontario for the next week and possibly beyond," writes Weather Network meteorologist Dr. Doug Gillham.

Ontario's warm-up is expected to begin Tuesday.
