Enjoy the dry conditions while you can Vancouver, heavy rain expected to to soak parts of BC's south coast for the next several days.

"Monday is a dry day for much of the south coast, while light snow falls in the mountains at times," says Weather Network meteorologist Monica Vaswani. "A system moving in through the overnight hours however, will mark the start of a very wet week."

A series of Pacific systems are in the forecast, along with gusty winds in some places.

"Strong winds will accompany this system moving in Monday night, especially on the west side of Vancouver Island where winds may be sustained around 40 km/h at times," Vaswani adds.

The breezy conditions will remain for much of the day on Tuesday along with heavy rain.

"In fact, the pattern for the south coast for the next couple of weeks shows rain off and on every day," says Matt Grinter, another meteorologist at The Weather Network.
