Bizarre scene as reporter gets knocked out by a flying fish

Tuesday, February 2, 2016, 2:47 PM - One of YouTube's latest viral weather videos features a reporter getting smacked in the head by with a flying fish while reporting on a massive storm in South Wales, U.K. And is often the case with viral videos, the debate went to social media for its verification.

"I'm here at Barry Island beach, and there's no signs of the storm --" the vlogger, Aimee, says in the clip. She isn't able to finish her sentence because a large fish appears to leap out of the water and smack her in the face, knocking her over.

While many people agree the video is funny, some are skeptical of it.

"Sound guy chucked it at her. Fake," Bern DeLany said on Twitter.

"100% fake but awesome," Helder Almeida tweeted.

Still, the video has managed to rack up nearly 2 million page views on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

While the video's authenticity is up for debate, the impact of the storm Aimee was trying to cover isn't.

The massive system, locally referred to as Gertrude, brought gale force winds to parts of the UK last Thursday and Friday, triggering a slew of warnings and causing massive travel delays.

A peak wind gust of 168 km/h was recorded in the Shetland Islands, along with colder temperatures.
