Parking bans in effect for the City of Edmonton

Targeted parking bans on specific bus/collector routes are in effect for the city of Edmonton for at least the next three weeks.

At a press conference Monday morning, the city offered their gratitude to Edmontonians who have been largely cooperating with the seasonal parking bans, enabling roadway maintenance crews to complete plowing with ease over the weekend.

The targeted bans are now in place to focus on specific areas where localized windrow removal will be taking place.

"No parking" signs will be placed in those areas 24 hours before work is scheduled to take place. The city will enforce the bans between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. while windrows are being removed.

"Given the nature of the windrow removal, it made more sense to ban parking only on the collector/bus routes where crews are working. We appreciate everyone's cooperation as we clear windrows over the next three weeks," says Bob Dunford, Director of Roadway Maintenance for the City of Edmonton.

More information on the ban can be found on the city's website, by singing up for the city of Edmonton snow removal email notification system or by calling 311.
