New NASA app brings the International Space Station a little closer

Saturday, December 27, 2014, 1:24 PM - Astronauts aboard the International Space Station have the coolest job ever.
Aside from plenty of chances for incredible photography (watch the awesome timelapse in the video above), they're pushing back the boundaries of science with a huge array of zero-gravity scientific experiments.
We couldn't list them all, and thanks to NASA's new ISS app, we don't have to: You can explore them all yourselves.
The Space Station Earthquake Explorer, as it's called, tells you pretty much everything you need to know about what the station does.
There's a section solely on experiments, divided into six categories, but the facilities section shows you where they're done. It takes you on a tour of science components aboard the Columbus, Kibo and Destiny modules, even allowing you to get information on experiments on individual racks.
If you're wondering what the science means for you, there's a benefits section that'll tell you. Finally, the media section features podcasts, videos and games.
