NASA spacecraft captures image of powerful solar flare from the Sun, could produce brilliant Aurora Borealis

Thursday, September 11, 2014, 1:45 PM - NASA released this stunning image of Wednesday's solar flare from the sun.
It came a day after another powerful solar flare.
The events were recorded by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory Spacecraft, which watches the sun.
NASA says the flares pose no danger to anyone on Earth.

The National Weather Service's Space Weather Prediction Center says it's likely Wednesday's flare produced a coronal mass ejection, or CME. As a result, a geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for Friday as a CME from Tuesday is expected to have a potent impact on Earth’s magnetic field.
This storm could produce aurora's grander than what we've seen over the past few months during storms less intense than this one -- so get those cameras ready!
The geomagnetic storm may temporarily disrupt GPS signals, power grids and radio communications on earth two or three days after erupting.
