Tian Tian came top by winning 19 percent of the votes. Her partner "Yang Guang", or "Sunshine", won second place in the same ballot last year.

According to Edinburgh Zoo's press release, this is actually the second prize won by Tian Tian.

In 2011, she was elected by BBC viewers as one of the 12 female faces of 2011.

The two giant pandas, which are the only pandas in Britain, arrived from China in 2011 on a 10-year loan.
