Wednesday, November 12, 2014, 5:12 PM - A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Kansas Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. CST, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reports.
The quake occurred at a depth of 5 km, about 13 km south of Conway, Kansas.
"Expect aftershocks," the USGS says in a statement.
"These secondary shockwaves are usually less violent than the main quake but can be strong enough to do additional damage to weakened structures and can occur in the first hours, days, weeks, or even months after the quake. Look for and extinguish small fires. Fire is the most common hazard after an earthquake."
No damages or injuries have been reported -- but the shaking could be felt in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Kansas.
