Tuesday, March 14, 2017, 9:14 AM - The long-lived deferral of winter snow for the GTA and Golden Horseshoe came to an abrupt end this week, with snow falling for both the drive home Monday and the morning commute Tuesday.

The focus of the storm is moving eastward, but it left behind significant travel woes. About a quarter of flights into and out of Pearson Airport were cancelled, several closures were reported, as were numerous collisions on highways.

On Highway 401 at Highway 6, a rolled over transport truck forced a lane closure that made the morning commute even harder for travellers on that route. OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt tweeted that the cleanup was likely to take several hours.

Below is a selection of tweets on the effects of the storm.
