Wednesday, February 11, 2015, 4:20 PM - A crippling snow storm has shut down schools, grounded flights and prompted officials to call upon the National Guard in Boston.
Over the past two weeks, nearly 200 cm of snow have fallen, forcing the city to overspend its $18 million snow removal budget by double.
Additional snow showers are expected through the work week, followed by another powerful storm this weekend.
That will only add stress to an already critical situation.
Space is running out for all the plowed snow, leaving officials to explore the possibility of dumping it into the ocean.
So far, about 20 roofs have collapsed under the weight of the heavy snow.
