Shown above is a time-lapse video of the severe thunderstorm that hit Lethbridge, Alberta early Wednesday evening.
The storm only lasted about half an hour but was very fierce indeed. Powerful rain and extreme winds caused brief flash flooding as the sewers could not keep up with draining the rainwater as fast as it was coming down. Trees were uprooted and there were some damages to homes and yards but thankfully no injuries have been reported.
After about 45 minutes the storm had not only subsided, but ended with the sun coming out.
Below is a picture of a collapsed garden centre at the Superstore in the area. Needless to say, this storm came with a kick.
