With our elongated summer no more than a distant memory and the promise of temperatures continuing to drop, we’re thinking that this weekend may be the perfect opportunity to indulge in some fall hibernation. This could be especially appealing if you already celebrated Halloween last week, as it would allow you to avoid having to come up with another costume!

As the forecasts across the country call for dropping temperatures and chances of rain and snow from the west coast to the eastern one, these are ideal conditions for cuddling up indoors and digging in that novel we've been meaning to read. Here are some of our top picks for getting cold weather cozy in style.

First off, the chunky knit is a must. Not only will it keep you supremely snuggly, but it's also a fall wardrobe staple that will have you looking effortlessly put together when venturing into the wild (a.k.a. replenishing supplies at the grocery store). Pair with some tight yoga pants (even if the most activity you’ll be doing is moving from the couch to the fridge). Lululemon makes them like no other, and their signature Wunder Under Pant will have you feeling skinny and svelte while tucking into your takeout order.

You’ll also want to ensure you have a pair of super comfy slippers to protect your tootsies from potentially freezing kitchen tiles. UGG’s sheepskin-lined Dakota moccasins are as durable as they are soft and provide the kind of breathable warmth your feet will be craving during the cold months ahead. Another essential for hibernating is the quintessential cozy blanket, and what could be more iconic than the signature stripes of the HBC throw? Bury under this baby while vegging out to your favourite addictive TV series (Scandal is a favourite right now). Bonus: you’ll also be adding some serious décor points to your sitting area!

Amp up the toasty factor by burning some candles—Bath and Bodyworks has the perfect scent for the season: an aromatic combination of eucalyptus, juniper berry and fresh sage (not to mention that it’s actually called Sweater Weather!). Why not also treat yourself by curling up with a mug of hot tea and indulging in a luxe mud mask that will moisturize and protect your skin against biting cold winds? After all, winter is coming!
