TUNE IN FOR LIVE COVERAGE: Chris St. Clair is on location in PEI, Chief Meteorologist Chris Scott and Meteorologist Mark Robinson are monitoring the storm from Cape Breton and Nathan Coleman is on location in Halifax.
Storm Watch continues for Atlantic Canada on Wednesday. We have a seasoned and trusted group in place to show the storm and to ensure you have important information to stay safe during this major weather event.
Here's how we get this to you LIVE from several locations on all of the media platforms The Weather Network utilizes to stay connected with you.
On social media we use an application called BrightCove. It's simple and easy to use, and can get information and live reports on Twitter, Facebook and www.theweathernetwork.com instantly! We simply record a message on our iPhones and upload, as fast as you can read this, it's ready to go online.
For our television broadcast we use Dejero. It is amazing technology. Satellite trucks are no longer needed. We connect our camera to the Dejero, (it's this size of a school lunch box) which then uses a simple cell phone call to digitize our audio and video back to our National Broadcast Centre. The process take one second. We can be live on battery power anywhere you can make a cell phone call.
Technology has brought us together in ways never imagined. We connect and share our storm stories in an instant. These stories bind us as Canadians.
